Ordered a fridge freezer from these guys and, as I’m the first to moan when things go wrong, I thought I’d leave some positive feedback for a change. I’d already seen the fridge freezer in Currys, but found it chepaer here. Ordered online with no problem, and was surprised to be offered a Sunday delivery at no longer extra charge. Delivery men rang ten minutes before they arrived and were great – the fridge freezer looked much bigger in my house than it did in the shop! But they skilfullu manouevered it through to the kitchen, taking great care not to damage anything on their way. Kept their promises and provided great service and value for money – would recommend.
Chose the delivery date when ordered the oven. The morning of expected delivery I received a phone call from the couriers at 8.00am to say they would be with me in approx 1 hour was that okay. True to their word they arrived within the hour.|The 2 x delivery guys were most polite and helpful asking where I wanted the item. | would recommend using this company and will do so again myself when the need arises. Excellent service all round.
I ordered a cooker on bank holiday Monday, 28th December and the web site stated 5-8 days delivery. The following day i received a telephone call from the manufacturer, saying they could deliver on Thursday, 31st, and would text me the slot time on Wednesday. This they did saying it would be delivered on Thursday between 8am – 11am. At 9am on New Years Eve, my cooker was delivered safe and sound. i would definately use this company again, although i am not sure whether it was down to them or the manufacturer, Hotpoint, that the service was so excellent.
Ordered a very reasonably priced LG washer dryer and set up delivery date all very Conveniently online. That’s about as good as it gets with this company. First delivery date,Tuesday 5th January was very understandbly cancelled due to heavy snow. Delivery was promised the next day weather permitting, the weather had eased and all main roads were clear but got a call saying that due to the back log on undelivered items the delivery would be re-scheduled for the following Tuesday. Following Tuesday arrives and at 12:30 recieved a call that the washer was damaged so could not be delivered and the order would be made again. SURPRISINGLY the washer was not in stock (web site still says it is) with no information on when it would be delivered back into stock. Yes on a web search Kitchen Science had the best price but if they can’t deliver the goods and after the extra hassle of canceling the order waiting for a refund and looking for another machine elsewhere believe me that couple of pounds extra I spent is money well spent for a GUARANTEED delivery. Kitchen Science your ‘unparalleled levels of service’ is indeed unparalleled. I have yet to come across a more INCOMPETENT company. CONGRATULATIONS!! AVOID THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING TO RECIEVE THE GOODS YOU ORDERED………….
Web site said in stock, but quoted 2 weeks delivery. Delivery day quoted was a Sunday, I thought “no chance”.
But yes, 7-30am a call from driver to ascertain where we lived and to say he would be there in 30 mins. 30 mins later another call to say he was outside. Driver and mate offloaded and positioned freezer where it was required.
Would most certainly use this Company again.
Have used Kitchen Science now on 2 seperate occasions and have been impressed with the delivery, price etc. Had a query when ordering my washing machine so telephoned instead and was dealt with quickly, efficiently and friendly. Maybe i’ve just been lucky but 2 out of 2 can’t be bad!

After reading all the comments here, I wondered whether I’d done the right thing by order from Kitchen Science, however, everything went really smoothly. I ordered a Miele T7644C tumble drier on 11 Oct 09 for delivery on 19th Oct. I received an email confirming the order and delivery date. The tumble drier was delivered mid-afternoon of the 19th; the correct model and all working fine. Perhaps I just got lucky, but it was worth it for the extra discount (on an already cheap price) that I got by ordering through this site.
To cut a very long story short, DON’T BOTHER!!!!
Faulty goods (3 washing machines later) wrong orders sent, wrong amount of money taken from account, numerous phone calls and e-mails. They don’t bother calling you back to discuss issues. They don’t compensate you even though they say they would. No phone calls to give an estimated delivery time because KS can’t do a simple task like updating a phone number. After over 6 weeks of trying to get a washing machine that works properly I have lost my patience and asked them to refund my money and come and collect the faulty washing machine but at my convenience. I have taken 3 days off work to accept delivery or have a technician assess the machine, waited in on 3 different saturdays and made over 14 phone calls.
Ordered a Bosch washing machine. The cheapest price and very very reasonable delivery (despite paying for it to be delivered only 3 days later £5.95) Got a call from delivery team 20 mins prior to arrival nice and early time of day. Even got a call from kitchen science at 5.30pm that day to find out if everything was done to my satisfaction and any suggestions for future. Was worried when I read these comment after ordering, but need’nt have bothered…totally hassle-free.
After reading these comments decided not to use this company. Pity, they should get their act together – buying from their site is just one of the service they provided, whilst they should endeavour to ensure delivery on time.
Ordered a washing machine they responded quick but item said in stock but was not, they gave 2 different delivery dates one was 3 months away when I questioned this they said it was a default date, item should have been delivered on 09/09/09
but I had had no telephone call I sent 2 emails and they responded saying item had missed delivery. The item came 2 days later but I had paid for collection of old machine but this company had not included this on the delivery lorry note so they took the new machine away and told me that I would have to arrange another delivery date.
Be warned do not use this company nothing is sraight foreward with them, I am now in the process of getting my money back and using a trusted store. I would not even give them a one score but one is the lowest in my opinion they are a minus.
I ordered my new fridge freezer online (much, much cheaper than anywhere else and no delivery charge). Order was accepted and paid for with no issues. Received emails confirming my order and delivery date. On the delivery day of my choice (which is anytime between 7am – 7pm) I phoned Kitchen Science to find out roughly when it would be arriving. They gave me the delivery company’s number and said they would be able to inform me. Before I’d even had a chance to call the delivery company, the drivers kindly phoned to give me a 20 min warning of their arrival. The new fridge freezer was in my kitchen by 9am. No issues, no problems, lovely, considerate delivery men and overall very happy with the customer service. Definitely would use them again.
So far so good, will wait to see if product arrives safely and within stated times!
Before I ordered the washing machine online, I telephoned to ask about connection and they said it is £20 and you can do it online. I tried to order online but there was no option for connection so ended up telephoning them and the placed the order over the phone. The delivery stated 7am-7pm so I had to take the day off work. Also my car was in the garage which I needed to pick up before 6pm. It was 3.44pm and I rang to ask if they had any idea when the delievry would be made, I was asked if the driver had telephoned me, which he hadn’t and the time slot booked in for me was 12pm-4pm. they couldn’t get hold of the driver and said if he hadn’t arrived by 5pm to call them back to which I did. This time they spoke to the driver who said he was running late and it would be within 1 hour. They did not arrive until 6.40pm. (admit within the delievry time but not happy when i was told the time slot in which they was supposed to have delivered). After me they still had another 2 deliveries. It was obvious the person connecting the machine was in a rush. He told me he could not connect it because the plastic fitting to the sink, the thread had worn and water would leak. I didn’t understand that because when I disconnected my old machine it looked fine to me so I asked him to show me. When he showed me he realised he was wrong and it did work and connected it. he ws ready to go and I then had to ask him to adjust the feet so the washing machine was stable. they did not test it and the front of the machine was slightly dirty whichi had to wipe down. Overall I was disappointed with their service and I will certainly think twice before buying from this company again. A days holiday wasted and unable to pick the car up.
