Do you sell anything?
No. It may seem obvious that we are a price comparison site and only provide links to the retailers that do sell the products but the most asked question is about how to place an order with us.
ProperPrice provides a comparison of price and delivery information of retailers that do sell the items. We do not sell any items ourselves.
How accurate are your prices?
We try very hard to make our information as accurate and useful as possible. We utilise various methods including getting the prices directly from the retailers website and the retailers providing us with their latest products files to utilising their own systems so we can query them directly. As such, we publish the time that this information was last checked against each of our listings.
Sometimes, however, we do get it wrong. Sometimes we are given incorrect information by the retailer and sometimes we make mistakes ourselves. In our experience these are rare and quickly put right. We encourage our users to tell us when they find a mistake and we respond quickly. You should always check the information on the retailers website before making your purchasing decision.
What about availability?
We will never know for certain what is in a retailer's stockroom. Utilising the methods outlined above, we are able to provide a good indication of the stock situation. Again, this should be checked with the retailers website before making your purchasing decision.
Your site says it is 'Free Delivery', but when I try to purchase an item from that retailer it adds a delivery charge. Why?
Some retailers that offer Free Delivery can have exclusions to certain postcodes. The most common of these is the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. If you live in these areas it is worth checking with the retailer first to see if there is a premium.
ProperPrice will only display 'Free Delivery' when this is offered to the vast majority of UK post codes.
I've tried to place my order by phone (or for collection in-store) but the voucher code is not being accepted. What is going on?
Most codes will only work when you purchase the item online for home delivery via ProperPrice. Often the reason is that retailers are looking to gain new business and are prepared to offer discounts to ProperPrice users in order to gain you as a customer.
Help, the voucher code isn't working!
Codes are checked regularly to make sure they are valid and we show the expiry dates where this is known (occasionally a code is ongoing and there is no expiry date).
As soon as a code has expired or found to no longer work, we remove it immediately. No more confusion like some other sites.
When entering your code, bear in mind that codes are case sensitive and make sure there is not a trailing space after the code which can often happen if you copy/paste.
Please let us know if you have tried a code and it is no longer working. There is a 'How Are We Doing?' link on every comparison page to give this feedback and only takes a few seconds.
Sometimes a retailer will withdraw a code before the end of the offer with no notice for various reasons, which is why we check that codes are valid so frequently.
I am a retailer. How can I list my products?
Great, glad you are interested in becoming a retailing partner.
We work on a CPA basis (as opposed to CPC like most other price comparison sites) which reduces the costs and the risks to the retailer. We can use virtually any feed going, so there is probably no need to create a new format of feed for us.
We are looking to include the functionality to be able to work with retailers direct, and will update this here as it gets closer to completion.
